Chronology of cameras Imperial Camera Corporation
Herbert George has long referred to the Boys-Scouts and Girls-Scouts of America in the denomination of his devices. In 1965, the niche does not seem to bear because any notion of Scouting has disappeared.
This compact format 126 is a total simplicity, a single speed, a single diaphragm ...
However, it is equipped with an integrated magneto flash using the AG-1 bulbs. Do not look for access to the batteries, it is in front of the bulb and is accessible when the flash is open ... push the latch back to unlock the holder and extract it ...
A silkscreened metal plate on the back of the camera refers to Kodak's manufacturing license, as well as the recommendations for using the flash with films of the same brand.
Starting in 1961, the Herbert George company was succeeded by Imperial. The cameras produced by the new brand continued in the same vein as those of Herbert George.
According to the patent application dates, Imperial remained active until the early 1980s but increasingly shifted production to Asia.
The patents filed by Imperial Camera Corp. list George Irwin as the inventor, who had already worked for Herbert George in the latter half of the 1950s. The illustrations accompanying the patent applications correspond to Herbert George or Imperial cameras and accessories.
